Stepping into spring, we couldn’t help but take a relaxing stroll in our backyard.

Well not really. But we did go to the Wellspring Manor & Spa which is a stone’s throw away from us. While they’re not taking reservations until May, we did go to their Spring Gallery Walk. The manor and nearby barn were filled with beautiful works of art by artists in the African diaspora.

We’re so glad to have found out about this local gem in Upper Marlboro. During the pandemic, they started offering luxury gift boxes through their brand Wellspring Wishes. Curated with soul, these boxes come in different themes. There’s even a culinary-themed box named after Edna Lewis, best known for her Southern cooking. As a chef, teacher, and author, Edna touched the hearts (and palates) of many. Edna’s Wish features a biography about this extraordinary woman along with some culinary staples. You can even purchase specially curated sauces as add-ons. If you’re looking for a Caribbean kick, be sure to select the option that includes our pepper sauces.

These sauces are handcrafted in small batches using high-quality ingredients from local Black-owned farms in Prince George’s County, Maryland and Washington, DC. They’re great as everyday condiments and can even be used in recipes. Be sure to check out our blog for ideas on how they can be used. Our sauces will help you on your culinary journey, whether you’re a beginner or you consider yourself a chef. When combined with the rest of the box, you’ll have a wonderful addition to your home – or you can gift it to someone else.
