Recipe (Serves 2 - 3 people )

Ingredients

  • 1/4 of a bell pepper, diced

  • 1/2 of a lime, squeezed

  • 1 blade of chive, chopped

  • 1 small chili pepper

  • 1 can of tuna

  • 2 cloves of garlic, chopped

  • 2 tablespoons Trini ‘hot’ pepper sauce

  • 3 sprigs of Italian parsley, chopped

  • 3.5 tablespoons of mayonnaise

Steps

  1. Drain the liquid from the canned tuna.

  2. Place tuna in a bowl, and mash with a fork for a few seconds in order to break it up into smaller chunks. This will make the tuna easier to work with.

  3. In a separate bowl, combine chives, garlic, chili peppers, bell peppers, and lime juice.

  4. Add the pepper and lime mixture to the bowl of tuna.

  5. Add parsley and spring onions to the bowl.

  6. Next, add in mayonnaise and the Trini ‘hot’ pepper sauce. We recommend 2 tablespoons, but add in more or less depending on your spice tolerance.

  7. Stir the ingredients until it is well mixed.

  8. (Optional) If you prefer a colder salad, place in the refrigerator for at least an hour.

  9. From here you can indulge in your creation.

Take it up a notch

  • Use it to top off some greens

  • Serve with bread/naan

  • Serve as a side dish
